October 2018—November 2018 | Through the Crack, the Light Comes In | Juried Exhibition at the Oak Park Art League, Chicago, IL
April 2016—May 2016 | Embodied Transcendence | Solo Exhibition at Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL
This solo exhibition was entitled Embodied Transcendence: Exploring the Relationship Between Art and Theology. The mediums I explored were printmaking (collagraphy, intaglio, and relief) and painting. The essence of this show was abstract interpretations of scripture, creation, and life amid the world, seeking to reconcile faith with the humanness of the material world. It was through abstraction where I hoped to evoke a sense of transcendence for the viewer, a space where the presence of God was felt—the Thin Place.

Presentation of my undergraduate thesis project on Art & Theology during the Interdisciplinary Studies Symposium at Wheaton College. It consisted of a 1-hour presentation, walking through my belief of art as the thin place, exploring the relationship between art, theology, faith, and the church—followed by a Q&A time where I was able to answer questions about my art and thesis paper.
My full thesis paper is available for reading here.
